For the last 7 years I have provided Simply Remind Me as a free app for people to send themselves reminders for events like birthdays, anniversaries, appointments and renewals (MOT, insurance, etc.)

It was designed for people to send themselves reminders - hence the name, Simply Remind Me.

Over the years, I’ve witnessed many businesses who are using Simply Remind Me to send reminders to their customers. Everything from dentist surgeries reminding their patients of their upcoming appointments, to Government embassies reminding tourists when their visa expires!

Whilst this works (and are novel uses of the app) it’s not what it was designed for.

Introducing... Simply Remind Me Pro

Pro is a set of features built on top of the free Simply Remind Me app, designed for businesses or organisations who want to use the app to send reminders to their customers or patients.

White-labelled reminders

Imagine: Sandy Lane Dental Surgery (fictional) is using Simply Remind Me to remind their patients about their dental appointments.

Barbara (also fictional) books her next check-up at the surgery. A week before the appointment, she receives a random email from something called Simply Remind Me. The first line of the reminder email reads “You asked us to remind you about…

Well, no she didn’t. And she’s never heard of Simply Remind Me. So, she bins it - or, worse for me, reports it as spam!

The first new feature of Pro is white-labelled reminders. As a Pro subscriber, you can configure Simply Remind Me to send reminders using a "from" name of their own company or brand name. You can also upload your own logo and choose your own colour scheme.

When your customer receives their reminder, they will immediately recognise who it's from: you, not Simply Remind Me.

An example white-labelled reminder sent using Simply Remind Me Pro. Configured with a company name of ACME Corporation, a logo and a blue colour scheme.

For text message and phone call reminders, you can configure the name that appears at the end of the text message, or is spoken at the end of the phone call. Due to network restrictions on alpha-numeric sender IDs, text messages will always be sent using "RemindMe" as the sender ID.

Extended reminder status

Ever wondered what happens to a reminder after it's been sent? If you're sending reminders to yourself, probably not. Businesses, however, may want to know if a customer has received - and seen - their reminder.

Simply Remind Me Pro receives real-time updates from Postmark (for email reminders) and ClickSend (for text message reminders and phone call reminders) on all reminders that have been sent.

These updates are displayed to you next to the reminder so you can see what has happened to it since it was sent.

For email reminders, you can see:

  • When it was delivered to the recipient's email server
  • When, and from where, it was opened
  • When, and from where, a link in the reminder email was clicked

For text message and phone call reminders, you can see:

  • When it was delivered to the recipient's handset
