Fellow software developers will understand the meaning behind the title of this post.
“Hello, world!” is the typical statement used in programming tutorials when learning to write software – and it’s usually the first words someone entering the wonderful world of software development will teach a computer application to say.
It’s therefore fitting that the title of the first post on the brand-new website of a software developer should be these hallowed words.
Yes, welcome to my new website, built on the brilliant OctoberCMS content management system. This site replaces my two previous websites: my virtual business-card website, and The Andy Sanc’tree. Unfortunately my free time is not what it used to be, and it’s difficult to find the time to maintain both sites. The Andy Sanc’tree was just a blog, and I always felt that any content I did put on had to be professional, complete and high-quality.
I’ve therefore merged the two sites into this one – andysh.uk – which I hope to update on a regular basis with anything I feel like, as it is my own personal home on-the-line. You should soon be able to find stuff on:
- Software development and programming
- Writing (including my own novel: Hazard)
- Disney
- Photography
So keep checking back! As always I’d be delighted to hear from anyone – simply leave a comment below (or on any of my posts) or more privately, my e-mail contact form is available here.
